Refund & Returns Policy

SMB Plates

At SMB Plates, all products are custom-made to order. Please read our refund and returns policy carefully before placing an order.

Custom-Made Products

Due to the personalised nature of our products, including custom number plates, bespoke sizing, custom lettering, and made-to-order designs, all sales are final once production has begun.

A pre-paid, non-refundable deposit or full payment is required before production starts.

Once an order has entered production, it cannot be cancelled, refunded, or amended, unless the fault is due to an error made by SMB Plates.

Order Accuracy

Customers are fully responsible for ensuring all submitted order details are correct before confirming purchase, including:

  • Registration text
  • Plate sizing
  • Character style
  • Spacing requirements
  • Product selection
  • Delivery details

SMB Plates cannot be held responsible for customer errors once production has started.

Damaged or Faulty Items

If your order arrives damaged or there is a manufacturing fault, you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery/collection.

Please provide:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photographs of the issue
  • A description of the fault

If the issue is confirmed to be due to a manufacturing defect or our error, we will offer one of the following:

  • Replacement product
  • Repair (where applicable)
  • Full or partial refund at our discretion

Incorrect Items Supplied

If we have supplied an incorrect item due to our error, please notify us within 48 hours, and we will arrange a replacement or refund.

Returns

As products are custom-made, we do not accept returns for:

  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect customer-supplied details
  • Ordering the wrong size/style
  • Misuse, improper fitting, or damage after collection/delivery
  • Plates damaged through drilling or modification by the customer

Show Plates

All show plate purchases are subject to our separate Show Plate Terms & Conditions.

Show plates are sold strictly for display and exhibition purposes unless otherwise produced as fully road-legal plates in accordance with UK regulations.

Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 working days.
